Joint pain, or arthralgia, is a symptom of various conditions, including injury, infection, and arthritis, affecting millions of people worldwide. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 23% of adults in the United States suffer from some form of arthritis, which is a leading cause of joint pain. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) estimates that the economic burden of arthritis and other rheumatic conditions exceeds $300 billion annually.
