Vaccine safety refers to the monitoring and evaluation of potential adverse events following immunization. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) closely track vaccine safety data to ensure the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks. While most vaccine adverse events are mild, serious injuries and deaths caused by vaccines are extremely rare. Despite this, misinformation about vaccine safety can lead to vaccine hesitancy and decreased vaccination rates.
