Rehabilitation International (RI Global) is a pioneering international disability rights organization with a presence in every region of the world. Founded in 1922, RI has been at the forefront of improving the quality of life for people with disabilities through advocacy, research, and collaboration with governments, service providers, and individuals. With a strong focus on establishing the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities since 1999, RI has made significant strides in promoting inclusivity and accessibility. The organization is also credited with creating the iconic International Symbol of Access, which has become a ubiquitous symbol of disability rights. Today, RI continues to work tirelessly to advance the rights and empowerment of people with disabilities worldwide, with its secretariat located in New York City. As of 2022, RI has over 1 million members and associates in more than 100 countries, making it one of the largest and most influential disability rights organizations globally.
