Gefitinib, sold under the brand name Iressa, is a medication used to treat certain types of cancer, including non-small cell lung cancer, by inhibiting the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). It is marketed by [[astra-zeneca|AstraZeneca]] and [[teva|Teva]], and is available as a generic medication. Gefitinib has been shown to be effective in patients with specific EGFR mutations, but resistance to the medication can develop over time.
